Wooden
Crates made to Custom UN Standards
Essa
Australia announces that its wooden packing crates will conform
to new United Nations standards.
The United Nations Food & Agriculture Organisation
is addressing the global spread of timber pests by regulating
the movement of timber packing in international trade. As a result
they have introduced ISPM 15, an international standard covering
phytosanitary measures regulating wood packaging material. More
and more importing countries around the world are now demanding
that wooden packaging material conform to ISPM 15 measures (refer
to schedule below).
Essa Australia has, for many years, packaged its
equipment in wooden crates to meet the demands of often rigorous
transport to isolated locations around the world. Many mining
and exploration programmes are located in hostile environments.
We have specifically designed our equipment to operate under these
adverse conditions. We have to, however, first ensure that the
equipment arrives there undamaged and ready for immediate operation.
Our customers have found that the high quality wooden crating
we use best protects our equipment during transport and handling.
We have immediately put into effect that all our
new wooden packaging, irrespective of final destination or content,
is suitably pre-treated to conform to ISPM 15 standards. This
will ensure that the export of your equipment is not delayed due
to fumigation procedures or subject to expensive fumigation costs.
Non-compliant wooden crates may lead to your consignment
being refused entry or subject to disposal. This new procedure
implemented by Essa will ensure that these drastic measures will
not happen and that you will receive your equipment without unnecessary
delay.
